lazy saturdae also

Lazy lazy lazy Saturday. Parents said no to going out wif sean sae must stay at home n rest so whole dae was spent slacking away. Of not slacking then is sleeping. Kuenny came over to our house todae to see the paintings. Came wif her daughter who is super hyper n run around the house everywhere …so much energy. So kuenny gave generally gd comments although she did pick on a few details….ah ya but now I feel so anti-art that I’m not goin to touch my paintings anymore la….sch start already n my hands r starting to get full. So no. I’m not making any amendments. After all art IS subjective. For my first painting 4 eg, chia picked on the moon, but she didn’t have any probs wif it. N those details that she pointed out disturbed her weren’t very major areas so….can close one eye bah.

Whole afternoon was spent reading harry potter order of the phoenix. Still working my way thru it. Gd story n its interesting how the author manages to keep the reader perpetually interested throughout, especially in sections where the plot slows down.

N yesterdae evening finally got the opportunity to watch les miserables the musical (the 25th anniversary version, which is said to be the best production so far). my copy’s still on the obiang dua liap laser disc format which used to b very happening in times of old…. Still in gd condition anyway. It totally changed my perception of broadway musical. Watched the full thing at one sitting..abt 2 ½ hr long. But when u get to the end, u can’t believed u actually sat on the sofa watching for so long. the show was spectacular la. The singers were top class. Everything was delivered just right. n for the first time, I actually paid attention to the co-ordination bet the orchestra n the singers, something which I had always took 4 granted til I started playing in church then I realized how difficult it was to get the co-ordination right while making sure that u dong compromise on the musical expression. N I have to say the orchestra did an excellent job in balancing the 2.

The whole musical was gd from beginning to end. I cdn’t find any section which was musically weak or poorly pulled off. But some highlights of the musical r “I dreamed a dream”, “who am I?”, “castle on a cloud”, “master of the house”, the most famous being “Do u hear the pple sing?”

Personally, I was really moved by “on my own”, sang by lea salonga playing eponine. Yes. Not ashamed to say that. I rarely ever shed tears but on hearing her this one really left me wif red eyes. Another excellent musical number is “Stars” sang by Philip quest playing javert, a policeman. Unbelievable power in that song. Michael ball playing marius also did a superfluous rendition of “empty chairs n empty tables”. His voice alone ar, can put pple like tao tse n michael buble to shame. Yes he is that gd.

Les miserables is 100 times the power of any Andrew Lloyd webber musical. Phantom of the opera not excluded. N I feel tempted to watch it again.
